age five. At the time, NVDC was called Mainstreet Dance Studio. She studied jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, and lyrical and is a former member of élan, Rose City Ballet, and Deus Vult Ensemble of Dance. Her performance resume includes productions of Annie, The Music Man, The Grinch, Cinderella, and The Nutcracker, as well as performances at Disneyland, Disney World, the Bahamas, and New York. She has been assistant coach for a high school dance team, as well choreographed for high school musicals. Courtney has been teaching dance for about 20 years! She teaches Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Contemporary from ages 2 to Adult. Her favorite part of teaching is “seeing the progression my students make throughout the year. The mini movers work on so much more than just dancing, and my older students work so hard to perfect certain skills. Her dance world began with Joe Tremaine, Doug Caldwell, Michael Rooney, and Hama. This foundation set the tone and her world on fire! Heather’s career was centered on industrial shows that traveled throughout Europe and the US. She is most proud of her students whether they are pursuing careers in the performing arts or mainstream America. She takes great pride watching her students dance on their own stage, whether that's in a commercial, on Broadway, a cruise ship, with Disney, or in the corporate boardroom, in the operating room, a teacher, or a parent! Heather is a founding member of New Vision Dance Center and has been teaching as long as she can remember! She primarily teaches jazz, technique and fitness and you’ll catch her working with the University of Oregon Dancers but has a soft spot for the littles. She has been teaching dance for over 39 years! She began teaching at Hillsboro Dance Academy and the NW Conservatory of Dance. From there, Kim founded her own studio: Young Learners Dancin’ School in 1994. Kim is now very thankful to be part of the team at New Vision! This will be Kim’s 6th year teaching at NVDC. She teaches Tap and Ballet. When asked her favorite part about teaching dance, “So many things!! I love spreading my love of dance to my students. I love the joy of watching them do what they love. I love the way they put a spin on the steps I have taught them and make them their own. She has trained in Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Jazz. When she was ten years old, she joined one of the performing companies, Deus Vult Ensemble of Dance. Later she joined NVDC competitive team for (the first two years NVDC competed!!). In 2017, she moved up to Alaska. She continued dancing and teaching at a local studio. She was also a part of an adult dance company called Enliven. Over the years, she has been to countless conventions (even traveled to one in Costa Rica!). She will always cherish the many Nutcrackers, recitals, and Blazer games she’s performed in! Christina has been teaching at NVDC for the past 11 years. She teaches ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary. She spends most of her days teaching the Mini Movers classes and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Christina’s favorite part of teaching is “forming a long-lasting bond with my students. I’m fortunate that we start the Mini Movers so young, so I often get to teach children consecutively from the time they are two years old up until they are at least six years old. Her training was influenced by Barbara Remington, summer intensives with various teachers, and a Joffrey scholarship. Her dance career includes her First Apprentice with Pacific Ballet Theater, dancing with BodyVox, and the Skinner/Kirk ensemble. Elizabeth is a founding artist with Oregon Ballet Theater. She began teaching ballet 22 years ago and has been part of the NVDC team since then! Elizabeth is proud to have attended various dance teaching conventions, been trained in the OBT Dance Teaching Program, and been certified to teach Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT). Elizabeth’s favorite part of teaching is “Passing on the history of the art form, from the steps to the ballets, and music. She began her training in Hillsboro, OR, and has had the opportunity to study and train in Utah, New York, and throughout the Pacific Northwest. She has performance experience with dance team, musicals, college programs and local companies. Bradian has been teaching for more than 20 years, all of which she has been part of the team at NVDC. She teaches contemporary, primarily, along with Jazz and Ballet. She also is the co-director our performing company with Heather. She continued to dance in college at Michigan State University where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She trained at her local dance studio for 7 years in various styles. Lilli graduated from The University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a minor in Business Administration. During her time at U of O, Lilli was a member of The University of Oregon’s Competitive Dance Team and competed at UDA and USA Nationals. Lilli joined NVDC in 2021 as the Communications Manager. She runs the social media platforms as well as the website. You’ll find Lilli teaching AcroDANCE and Lyrical, as well as choreographing for the NVDCo Competition Team.
