Whether your child wants to improve their jazz dancing skills or you’re looking to change up your exercise routine, New Vision Dance Center’s jazz class for 6-year-olds and up is the outlet you’re looking for. Serving the Beaverton and Hillsboro areas, this program hosts youth and adult students who are looking for a fun way to get fit, refine their dance skills, and enhance their self-confidence.

Fun for Children and Adults

In this class, dancers ages 6 and up can develop their knowledge of jazz techniques while refining their flexibility and control. Our knowledgeable instructors begin by guiding students through the basics, followed by intermediate and advanced dance steps like isolation movements, turns, and jumps.

No matter what level of skill they arrive with, students’ unique needs are met each class. By getting to know each student and gauging their abilities, our instructors develop choreography and teach technique that is on par with each student’s personal capabilities.

More than Just a Dance Class

This jazz dance class does more than simply increase students’ knowledge of technique and terminology, as it is also an exercise in self-confidence, creativity, and social engagement. For the youngsters and adults who enroll, they will accomplish the following while learning to dance in our fun, nurturing studio environment:

  • Follow complex directions and commit choreography to memory
  • Engage and work together with others to perform group steps and dances
  • Hone their creative abilities and expression
  • Enhancing their physical strength, coordination, and flexibility

As they work side by side to master the steps, students will also develop a bond that will only be strengthened with each dance they complete. Plus, with the understanding that they are all working towards a mutual goal, students will feel comfortable trying out new steps and making mistakes in the safe class environment our instructors work to foster.

The Right Dance Studio for You

At New Vision Dance Center we have been teaching kids in the Beaverton and Hillsboro areas to love dancing for many years. We strive to help develop smart dancers who care for themselves and the art form that they are learning.

What to Wear

Each jazz dance student must wear a leotard with tights, leggings, fitted jazz pants, or bike shorts for each class. They may also choose to wear a fitted, tank-style shirt over their leotard. Students must also wear black jazz shoes and, if they have long hair, pull it away from their face during class. Boys can wear a t-shirt with bike shorts or leggings with black jazz shoes.

Parents and other family members can sit in our comfortable waiting room and watch their loved ones participate. Conveniently accessible from the Beaverton and Hillsboro areas, we make it easy for families to take classes after school or work, as well as between any commitments on their schedule.
