Hippity Hop | 4-5 Years Old

boy in a hippy hop dance class

Serving the Beaverton and Hillsboro areas, New Vision Dance Center offers an introductory hip hop class for children ages 4-5. During this class, our friendly instructors will teach your child the basics of this modern, high-energy form of dance. As they move to age-appropriate music, your child will learn fun dance steps while engaging with their peers, building their self-confidence, and strengthening their physical and cognitive abilities.

Teaching the Hip Hop Basics

Led by nurturing instructors, students are guided through the fundamentals of hip hop dancing during each Hippity Hop session. Specifically, students learn popular hip hop dance steps while focusing on rhythm, musicality, and basic footwork. Ever mindful of the unique needs of 4- and 5-year-olds, our instructors carefully cater to each class to their students’ unique gross motor abilities, memory capacities, and attention spans.

Exercise for the Body and Mind

By participating in New Vision Dancer Center’s Hippity Hop classes, your child will learn more than just dance techniques. While receiving instruction in the basics of hip hop dance, they will also gain self-confidence and develop a deeper appreciation for the art of dance. Plus, all of this learning will occur in a family-oriented environment, so your child will feel comfortable trying new things, engaging with their peers, and making the mistakes that are a necessary part of learning.

Aside from these benefits, the Hippity Hop program also gives your child the following important opportunities to:

  • Explore their creative sides
  • Work together with their fellow dancers
  • Make friends and improve their social skills
  • Enhance their strength, flexibility, and coordination

With so many developmental advantages offered by enrolling your child in a dance class, it’s no wonder why so many children continue to dance into adulthood. After aging out of our Hippity Hop class, your child can continue to hone their skills in our more advanced hip hop classes.

The Right Dance Studio for Your Child

At New Vision Dance Center we have been teaching kids in the Beaverton and Hillsboro areas to love dancing for many years. We strive to help develop smart dancers who care for themselves and the art form that they are learning.

Preparing for the First Day

To keep your child safe while they learn and grow, New Vision Dance Center enforces a dress code for all dancers. Our Hippity Hop students are required to wear either a leotard with tights or another outfit comprised of flexible clothing. They must also wear black jazz shoes in each class. Finally, students with long hair are required to wear it in a bun or ponytail to keep it out of their eyes while they move.

We know how exciting it can be for parents to watch their child take their first steps as a dancer. That’s why we offer a comfortable waiting room that overlooks our studio floor, so you can keep an eye on your little one as they learn the basics of hip hop.
